@MRL2051 said in N64 roms not* saving once emulation station has been rebooted - linked to audio error?:

Something I read suggested the volume error could mess up the save state for N64, but maybe it is completely unrelated. I can save my N64 roms and go back to them as long as I keep the emulation station running. As soon as I restart my pi it deletes the most recent save.

No, there's no relation between the 2 things - that error message is from EmulationStation and it appears at start-up, but you don't see it unless you launch a game.

How reliable is your SDcard ? This kind of behavior (files disappearing) is usually an indication of bad/failing sdcard.

@mitu Power switch as in "shut down gracefully?"

I also want to boot right into this one game and am not sure you still use E.S. when you implement this way. Was saving that for another search/question.

@playgamemy said in PSX configuration "save on exit" or "save configuration" not working:

Are there configuration file for retroarch that specify where configuration files should be saved?

RetroPie uses the 'stock' settings - ~/.config/retroarch for game overrides and control remaps. It's not advisable to save the settings directly since it will save them over the core's config file (see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#config-hierarchy). If you want to edit the 'global' RetroArch config file, then add your options to the /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg file.

@Mr.-Waffles It seems to be a known bug: https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/issues/4820

There's a workaround that you can try here: https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/issues/4820#issuecomment-294326479
